Queens Baton In Nairobi

Nairobi in a very famous country in Kenya and was founded in 1899, at that time it was a rail depot linking Mombasa and Uganda. But the country grew quickly to become the capital of British Africa and currently it is the capital of free Kenyan. Some postcards from Nairobi:

Queen's Baton in Kenya

The Queen's baton has reached Kenya. Kenya is famous for its wildlife sanctuaries and wildlife reserves. Kenya was named after the highest mountain in the continet (Mt. Kenya). I don't know why Mt Kenya was named ;). The baton has covered 190000 km distance so far.

Commonwelath Games 2010 - First Green Commonweath Games

Chairman of the organizing committee of the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Suresh Kalmadi has announced that commonealth games this time would be a focussing on environment and will focus on reducing the carbon footprint to hold the first-ever Green Commonwealth Games. This step could prove to be a benchmark for other majot sporting events to be held in future. Kalmadi annouced that India will invest in green infrastructure and pro-active waste management.
