Commonwealth Games requires Photographers to travel with the Baton



If you are a professional photographer then this can be a dream assignment to you. Commonwealth Games organisers are looking for photographers (photo journalists) for a six months assignment. The photographers selected will travel along with the Queens Baton relay across various nations. Getting paid for a trip that will start from India in October 2013 and covering nations like Maldives, Australia, Africa, Dubai etc and then reach Ireland (Glasgow) the host country for the Commonwealth games 2014. 

Last day you can apply for this job is 16th September and if selected you must be available to start the work on October 1st. You can apply for this job at the official commonwealth games 2014 site. 

Queens Batons is just as famous as the Olympics torch and it travels across the globe through various participating nations.  We’ll keep you posted about the excited journey of Baton.

Queens Baton In Nairobi

Queen's Baton in Kenya

The Queen's baton has reached Kenya. Kenya is famous for its wildlife sanctuaries and wildlife reserves. Kenya was named after the highest mountain in the continet (Mt. Kenya). I don't know why Mt Kenya was named ;). The baton has covered 190000 km distance so far.

Queen’s Baton in Jersey enjoys a stint in swimming pool

We will be tracking and keep you updated about Queens Baton journey throghout the globe till it reach New Delhi the host of 2010 commonwealth games. Continuing with our last post, qeen's baton enjoyed a stint in the Langford Pool at Saint Halier (Jersey). The baton was protected by specially designed float.

Queens Baton in Jersey

After travellin through different locations in Europe the queens baton reached Jersey. Jersey is a British dependency off the coast of Normandy (France). Till now the baton has traveled 190000 kilometres.
